Can you help tackle Youth Homelessness?

by Peter Seib on 23 May, 2015

SSDC, SCC and local social landlords such as Knightstone are all part of P2i (Pathways to Independence) which supports vulnerable and homeless young people aged between 16 and 24 in overcoming their situation and giving them help to live independently. One of the key components is emergency host family accommodation, where a young person is given safe accommodation for a short period in the home of an approved host volunteer or family who provides a room for the night, a meal and access to wash facilities. To offer this invaluable service, P2i need hosts. Do you have a spare room that you could offer to a young person for a night or two?

  1. David Fuller says:

Petition SSDC by putting rents up for private landlords then, and allowing DHPayments housing associations are just another form of in-house corruption

    • Peter Seib says:

Only your MP can help you Dave, not SSDC.

DHP (THE GOVERNMENT) tell us (THE COUNCIL) whether they (THE GOVERNMENT) will pay a landlord (PRIVATE OR HOUSING ASSOCN.). SSDC’s only role is to help the applicant fill the form out.
